Mood Board: Chop Night

Let’s Plan a Gathering

Every Thanksgiving Eve, we gather for one of our favorite evenings of the year: Chop Night. An evening filled with spending time together, preparation, storytelling, and food {lots of it!}, Chop Night is a comfortable, casual time for each family member to gather and prepare the ingredients for their designated dish for Thanksgiving.

The Inspiration

Milton’s family grew up holding their very own Chop Night every year, and we’ve carried on the tradition of gathering our loved ones year after year to do the same. We have hosted Chop Night at our house for as long as we remember, and growing up in Tallahassee, we’ve been able to expand the guest list to aunts, uncles, cousins, {and now new nieces and nephews, too!}

The Mood

When the entire Johnson family gets together, the space is inevitably filled with stories, laughter, and music, making it loud, energetic, and cozy.

A few descriptors of the gathering:

  • Engaged
  • Cozy
  • Casual
  • Anticipatory
  • Fun
  • Loving

The Colors

The Colors

Even a simple and casual gathering such as this can look more put-together by sticking to a cohesive color palette for your chosen components. Here, we've leaned into the warm hues of Autumn to set the tone.

The Featured Colors:

  • Wine Burgundy
  • Sunflower Yellow
  • Burnt Orange
  • Midnight Black

Why not extend the togetherness of the holiday season and host ahead of the biggest hosting day of the year?!  Stay tuned for the finished look, and get inspired to host your own Chop Night this Thanksgiving with this done-for-you Curated Gathering!

Cheers!
